Cut The quality of a diamond's cut determines its sparkle. EX = Excellent, VG = Very Good.
Aspect ratio (L/W) Length divided by width—the most important shape characteristic for oval, marquise, and pear shapes.
Proportions Table % and depth % describe the cut proportions. For round cuts, the classic proportions are: table 54–60%, depth 60–63%.
Rondiste The narrow edge between the upper and lower sections. Medium-sized steps (THN–STK) are considered ideal.
Growth Methods CVD and HPHT are the two manufacturing processes—they are of equal quality.

A lab-grown diamond is not an imitation. Chemically, physically, and optically, it is the same material as a natural diamond—pure carbon in a diamond crystal lattice, with a hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale. The only difference lies in how it is formed: instead of forming over billions of years in the Earth’s mantle, it is grown in a reactor in just a few weeks using the CVD (chemical vapor deposition) or HPHT (high-pressure, high-temperature) process.
Even a gemologist can't tell the two apart with the naked eye. That requires laboratory equipment—and that's exactly why every stone from our collection comes with an independent certificate that states its origin in black and white.

Both are genuine diamonds. The decision isn't a matter of quality, but rather a matter of budget and significance.

Those who love the idea that the stone is older than life on Earth choose natural diamonds and opt for a slightly smaller size. Neither choice is wrong.

The 4Cs — How to Identify Diamond Quality
Four criteria determine the price and quality of each diamond. You can filter by all four in the search bar above.
Karat (weight)
1 carat = 0.2 grams. More important than the number is how the diamond looks on your finger: A well-cut 1.5-carat diamond appears larger than a poorly cut 2-carat diamond. With oval and marquise cuts, you get more visible surface area per carat than with a round brilliant cut.
Colour
The scale ranges from D (colourless) to Z (yellowish). Our recommendation: G to H. Without a direct comparison, no one can tell the difference between D and F—but they can certainly see the price difference. Learn more: Diamond Colours D–F Explained.
Clarity
What matters isn't the lab grade, but whether inclusions are visible to the naked eye. Starting at VS2, they're practically never visible—use the "Eye-Clean" filter in your search. Why VVS stones are often not worth the money when it comes to lab-grown diamonds: VVS1, VVS2, VS1 in lab-grown diamonds.
Cut
The underrated factor—it determines the stone’s brilliance. Don’t skimp here: Excellent or Ideal—nothing less. A poor cut turns a D-Flawless stone into a dull one.
IGI or GIA Certificate: Why It Matters
Don't buy a diamond without an independent certificate. Period. The certificate documents the 4Cs, the origin (lab-grown or natural), and includes a report number that you can verify yourself online with the institute—it takes less than a minute with IGI and GIA. Many stones also have the number laser-engraved on the girdle.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lab-Grown Diamonds
Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. They are composed of the same crystalline carbon as natural diamonds, with identical hardness (Mohs 10), brilliance, and refractive index. The major gemological institutes (IGI, GIA) also classify them as genuine diamonds—with their laboratory origin clearly stated on the certificate.
Is it possible to tell a lab-grown diamond from a natural diamond?
With the naked eye or under a jeweller's loupe: no. Only specialised laboratory equipment can detect the growth structure. Therefore, the origin is always verified by the certificate, not by visual inspection.
How much cheaper are lab-grown diamonds?
Depending on size, 70 to 85% of the price of comparable natural diamonds. A 1-carat lab-grown diamond in G/VS quality costs approximately €800–1,200, while a natural diamond of the same quality costs €4,500–7,000 (as of 2026).
Are lab-grown diamonds a good investment?
No, and we’re not claiming otherwise. Prices have fallen significantly in recent years because production is becoming more efficient. Buy a lab-grown diamond for what it is: maximum brilliance and size for your budget—not as an investment. If you’re looking for value retention, consider large, high-quality natural diamonds.
What do CVD and HPHT stand for?
The two methods used to produce laboratory-grown diamonds. In CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition), the diamond grows layer by layer from a carbon-containing gas; in HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature), it grows under conditions similar to those in the Earth’s mantle. Both methods produce genuine diamonds; the method used makes no difference to the final result on your finger.
