Both methods produce real diamonds. The method used for a particular stone is listed in the lab report. You can select it using the filters under "Advanced."
The "Eye-Clean Only" filter is preset for lab-grown diamonds and displays clarity grades from FL to SI2. The best way to see if an SI diamond really looks clean is to look at photos and videos.
We provide a link to the lab report for each stone. You can look up the number directly with the lab to verify the carat weight, color, and clarity.
Carat weight, color, clarity, and dimensions, as well as whether it was lab-grown and the method used—CVD or HPHT. If the stone was treated after growth, the report will also mention that. Look up the report number with the lab and compare the values with the information we provide.
Significantly less than a comparable natural diamond. For the same budget, lab-grown diamonds usually offer more carats or a higher color and clarity grade. The pages for 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, and 3 carats show starting prices by cut; each individual stone is listed with its current price, including sales tax.
There are two methods: In the CVD process, the diamond grows layer by layer from a carbon-containing gas on a diamond seed. In the HPHT process, carbon crystallizes under high pressure and high temperature, similar to conditions deep within the Earth. Both methods produce genuine diamonds; the process is specified in the laboratory report.
Not with the naked eye or a jeweler's loupe. Only a gemological laboratory can determine the origin based on growth patterns and trace elements. The lab report verifies this; you can look up the report number online with the laboratory.
No. Buy a lab-grown diamond because you like it and it fits your budget—not as an investment. The same goes for natural diamonds.
Lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds are both composed of pure carbon and share the same crystal structure, hardness, and refractive index. The difference lies in their formation: one forms over millions of years in the Earth’s mantle, the other in a matter of weeks in a laboratory. Visually, they are indistinguishable without specialized laboratory equipment. Lab-grown diamonds are significantly less expensive than comparable natural diamonds, which is why, with the same budget, you can often get more carats or a higher clarity grade. Both types come with a laboratory certificate from us; you can look up the report number directly with the laboratory.
