Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 1.5-carat diamond cost?

That depends on the shape, color, clarity, and origin. Each individual stone has its own price, including sales tax.

How big is a 1.5-carat diamond?

When round, it measures approximately 7.4 mm in diameter; when oval, approximately 8.8 × 6.5 mm; when emerald-cut, approximately 8.0 × 5.7 mm; when cushion-cut, approximately 6.3 × 6.3 mm; and when pear-shaped, approximately 9.7 × 6.3 mm. The exact dimensions are listed for each stone.

What level of quality is worth it for a 1.5-carat diamond?

As the surface area increases, inclusions tend to become more visible. A color grade of G to H and a clarity grade of VS2 remain a reliable compromise. SI1 is acceptable if the inclusions are oriented laterally; the diagram in the lab report shows their orientation.

Lab-grown diamond or natural diamond?

Lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds are both composed of pure carbon and share the same crystal structure, hardness, and refractive index. The difference lies in their formation: one forms over millions of years in the Earth’s mantle, the other in a matter of weeks in a laboratory. Visually, they are indistinguishable without specialized laboratory equipment. Lab-grown diamonds are significantly less expensive than comparable natural diamonds, which is why, with the same budget, you can often get more carats or a higher clarity grade. Both types come with a laboratory certificate from us; you can look up the report number directly with the laboratory.
